A hybrid game where two players need to navigate an obstacle filled jungle where each person only sees certain parts of the levels.
This was a group project where we had to come up with a game which would make players realize that everyone sees the world differently, through a different lens so to speak of. I had the role of general designer and came up with the idea to make an obstacle course where players needed to work together to move an orb across a obstacle filled jungle. The catch? Each player has to wear a custom set of glasses which filtered out the color red or the color blue. Some obstacles where in those colors thus making teamwork extra important. Not everyone sees everything the same, just like in real life.
Creating custom glasses to filter out certain objects for the players.

Sometimes the answer to converting abstract topics into game mechanics is to look for existing metaphors. Those can turn out to be great starting points for your core mechanics.
